9/11 NEVER FORGET EXHIBIT coming to the 61st WV Black Walnut Festival on October 9-10, 2015

On September 11, 2001, the terrorist attacks in New York City, New York; Washington, D.C.; and Shanksville, Pennsylvania forever altered our society.  From these horrific acts of selfish violence came unbelievable acts of selfless courage by our great nation's law enforcement officers, firefighters, and civilians.  We will always remember the paralyzing events of that day, but not just because of the devastating visuals broadcasted around the world on news outlets, but also due to the bravery and camaraderie of those who risked (and those who lost) their lives fighting to save our friends, neighbors, and family members trapped around the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

On October 9-10, 2015, the 61st Annual West Virginia Black Walnut Festival will celebrate the men and women who risked and sacrificed their lives in service to their fellow citizens, as well as every person who was affected by the events that occurred on that fateful day.

According to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation:

"The Siller Family started the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighters (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.

In 2013, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation created a mobile exhibit as a tribute to all those whose lives were sacrificed on September 11, 2001. The 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit is a tool to educate America’s youth about the historic events of that day. Welcomed around the country, from communities in Phoenix, Arizona to Tampa, Florida, the 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit – a high-tech, 53-foot tractor- trailer, which unfolds into a 1,000 square foot exhibit, serves as a poignant reminder of that tragic day.

The memorial provides interactive education; including artifacts such as steel beams from the towers, documentary videos, recordings of first responder radio transmissions and live tours by FDNY firefighters. Entrance into the exhibit is always free of charge.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to ensuring WE NEVER FORGET."
